Carol Peo is the founder and consultant for Atlantica. Peo has over 25 years experience leading engineering organizations and delivering software products and services, ranging from enterprise applications to infrastructure on a variety of platforms. She has extensive experience with:

• Building excellent teams that produce exceptional results- in both startup and large company environments
• Leading distributed and offshore teams - led highly productive engineering groups distributed across the US, Europe, India and elsewhere

Peo has consulted on engineering management for over 5 years. A small sample of her engagements include acting as interim VP of Development for a startup company developing portals for businesses and affinity groups, with one of the portals experiencing over a million page views per day; leading development for a startup developing clinical information systems, expanding the team and project managing a key product release; project managing and requirements definition of a custom CRM application for a consulting company, acting VP of Software for a division of a public networking company developing multi-service ATM switches, and defining and evangelizing practical development methodologies for several companies.

Peo has held Vice President or Director of Engineering positions at Oracle, Veridiem, Sentillion and Banyan Systems. At Oracle Peo was responsible for 3 enterprise application products that enabled retailers to optimally plan assortments and distribute merchandise. She greatly expanded the development team, established a new development team in India, and delivered several product releases. At Veridiem Peo led Product Development and was responsible for the company’s marketing optimization enterprise application solution. Peo turned around a development team that was consistently very late in product delivery, tripled the team, and delivered a key new product utilizing an agile development methodology. At Sentillion Peo was responsible for all aspects of engineering for a packaged, virtualized desktop solution for remote access. She was also responsible for deployment and support of the hosted solution. At Banyan Systems Peo led the 100 person engineering group responsible for key enterprise services providing directory, security, email and communications products.

Peo holds Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
